Designing around an ongoing activity

Our Humming Garden work focused on a Windows application for tracking plant growth and keeping a record of progress. We approached the experience around the recurring activity: add an observation, keep the details and return to the history.

Diary details and log history

Our interface designs brought diary-detail and log-history views together, with plant-related fields and a consistent Humming Garden identity. This gave the product a visual approach to both recording information and reviewing it later.

A Windows tablet presentation

We developed the branded application presentation around a Windows tablet. The case study focuses on that interface-design work, connecting the device format with the records and history the application was intended to support.

A design principle that lasts

The project illustrates an important part of useful software design: organise the experience around the activity a person is trying to follow. Recording observations and looking back over progress should feel like parts of the same task.

The Humming Garden centred on a Windows application for recording plant growth and following progress over time.

The approach

Our team designed a Windows tablet experience that brought plant-related diary details and log-history views together under a consistent product identity.

The contribution

We produced branded tablet and application interface designs focused on growth records, diary entries and reviewing progress over time.
